You win the game by gaining 10 victory points. If you roll a seven with the dice, anybody who has more than seven resource cards will have to discard half of their cards but if you have an odd number of cards, say nine, you would have to discard four not five. It is a fun game because it is competitive. Also, I like that the board changes every time, because your previous strategy doesn’t always work with this game. It is based on settlement, trade and discovery. “Settlers of Catan,” however, is entertaining for many reasons. Overall, I like playing this game, but the only downside is that it takes too long to learn and has to be played by exactly three to four players. The goal of the game is to collect and trade resources to build settlements and roads. “Settlers of Catan,” the competitive board game created by Klaus Teuber, is an award-winning game for ages 10 and up.
